Cosplay Reference Pics
As per the request of
lolitahaze, here's pic references for my costumes from SDCC.
Honey, Fighting Vipers 2
It was really hard to find a good screencap from the video game. The official artwork is horrible, so I use a fan artist's version that is pretty close. Fighting Vipers is an old fighting game that was released on the Sega Saturn only in Japan, but FV1 was released in the US. Honey's US name is Candy, and she's an aspiring fashion designer.

Her outfit is actually supposed to be made of rubber, and it should come off in pieces. The game is based on all the characters wearing armor and it being able to be broken off. Of course, it was my second ever cosplay so I did the satin thing. Hahaha! But I still love it. I think if I WERE to ever redo it (and I'm not gonna) I would definitely get it as close to perfect as possible.

I left out a LOT of details. My first version did have the bows on the knees and the ribbons on the shoes, and locks on the manacles, and a bow in the back. I always meant to sew in the metal loops in the skirt but it was just such a daunting task that I just never did it. I NEVER even thought to make the collar, I just forever overlooked it and never even noticed it until this post! >_<

I bought new shoes just for this costume, but it was like 2 years ago! So I got in my costume just to take a pic.. I never actually used the shoes until SDCC.

First time I wore Honey at Anime Expo 2002.

Of course, the costume improved since then because I've improved my self-image, too.
Lum, Urusei Yatsura
If you're a hardcore or oldschool otaku, you KNOW who Lum is. If you aren't, she's an alien from another planet who came to Earth to overthrow it. They offered the humans a chance to protect their world by pitting one human in a race to catch the alien princess Lum, who could fly and eletrocute things.

Mei Yaoh, Danger Girl: Kamikaze
I did this costume on a whim because all the GEN girls had organized a Danger Girl group cosplay and I reeeaally wanted in! I never read DG, so it was a challenge. This character is from a two shot so there was just this ONE reference photo from the cover. The comic itself had her in different outfits.

And I put off making the costume until the day before, so I REALLY took shortcuts on this one. Very little detail!! LOL!

The rest of the Danger Girl group...

Back row, L-R, me of course, Meagan as Sydney Savage, Becky as Abby Chase, Raychul as Natalia Kassle
Down in front, Traycee as Silicon Val and Heather as JC
